There is now less than a month left Castel Bolognese Pentecost Festival, who celebrates his 393rd edition, scheduled for May 16-20. The party he’s hosting Tourist association Pro Loco Castel Bolognese which with the new board presents a rich program of events.
A unique event that was born in 1631 as a vote of the castle population to the Madonna della Concezione for protection from the plague that plagued Romagna at the time, but which spared Castel Bolognese.
Today, the Pentecost Festival is an event that combines local culture with musical events with artists of national caliber and also has a very efficient food stand where the gastronomy of Romagna reigns supreme.
It starts on Thursday, May 16 at 7 p.m. with the opening of the refreshment stand. From 20:45 we move to the square for the “Dance and Rhythmic Gymnastics Gala” organized by the associations Agorà Danza, Danza &.. Danza and Il Cigno. Next is the area for Giovani Operativi (GO) under the city monastery with the first freestyle competition organized by 48012 HH Events.
On Friday, with the stands open, we start with the traditional “Parade of vessels of parishes and ancient professions”, a parade accompanied by the “Banda del Passatore”, “Fruste di Romagna” and the band “Come Cerchi”. This is followed by the traditional pouring of wines from the 7 parishes of the castle and an area from 22 hours of dance music with the group “’90Mania”, with DJ sets, live performers and entertainment.
On Saturday morning, the Agricultural Technology exhibition will open, curated by Graziano Fabbri, in the afternoon from 4 p.m. entertainment in the square with “Photographic Treasure Hunt” organized by the Parents’ Association, from 6 p.m. a refreshment stand will open and from 9 p.m. two pop rock acts will perform on stage bands of the 70s, 80s and 90s HARDHIT and INCOGNITA ROCK.
On May 19, there will be space for church tradition, the heart of the celebration, a Holy Mass from 1631 served in the square from 10:00 a.m. and then an extraordinary opening of the refreshment stand from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. In the afternoon, from 3 p.m., the start of the “21st Pentecost GP – 23rd Memorial Fratelli Liverani”, a very young category cycling race organized by USC Castel Bolognese. The day ends with a fashion show organized by Castellana stylist Claudia Bellini in collaboration with CNA Ravenna and local businesses and activities called “CASTELLO DI MODA – Tropical Fashion Show” presented by the voice of Radio Bruno Laura Miuccio Padovani and Enzo Ferrari, musically accompanied by the street band Basterdjazz.
Monday 20th May, opening at 18:00 food stand, but from 21:00 everyone will be looking up at the balcony of the town hall for the traditional raffle draw with a rich prize pool of 4000 euros. This year it will be the turn of the Gigi&Andrea duo to animate the raffle. But we don’t end there, because at the end of the draw there will be space for the concert show “50 years of libido” with Jerry Calà on the central stage in Piazza Bernardi from around 10:00 p.m.
The famous Luna Park of Romagna is present every evening, as well as creative, recycled and vintage markets.
